
Championships & Administration Intern
The Big Sky Conference is seeking a Championships & Administration Intern.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the execution of Big Sky championships and supporting the office’s day-to-day operations. The Championships & Administration Intern will report primarily to the Senior Associate Commissioner for Championships and Media Partnerships, with additional duties assigned by the Deputy Commissioner.
The successful candidate should possess a sincere interest in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics and must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. The Championships and Administration Intern must be detail-oriented, collaborative, goal-oriented, and a self-starter.
Essential functions include:
Championships
• Traveling to and work at select conference championships, including for ten days in March to the Basketball Championships in Boise, Idaho
• Assisting in creating and updating championship manuals
• Creating, distributing, and compiling feedback from championship feedback surveys
• Assisting with the planning and executing of championships and all ancillary championship programming
• Maintaining inventory for branding and other championship assets and equipment, and assisting with shipping to and from championship locations
• Assisting with trophy and awards program
• Assisting in managing the Conference’s esports program
Administration
• Creating agendas and keeping minutes for select committee meetings
• Assisting in preparing and processing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Officiating payments
• Assisting in the promotion of the Conference’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee
• Creating surveys to solicit feedback about compliance and governance
• Scheduling and coordinating in-person and virtual meetings
• Assisting in the management of assigned Conference programming
• Assisting with creation, procurement, and delivery of all-conference, individual, and other specialty awards
• Performing other duties as assigned
Additional Information:
Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree before starting this position. Experience working in intercollegiate athletics or having been a student-athlete is preferred. Former Big Sky student-athletes are strongly Page 1 of 2 encouraged to apply. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and videoconferencing and must either know or be comfortable quickly learning QuickBooks, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Acrobat.
This position is anticipated to start in late August or early September 2026, and conclude no later than May 31, 2027, and will work twenty-five (25) hours per week on average. The position will pay fifteen hundred dollars ($1,500) per month and does not include benefits. This position will work in person at the conference office in Farmington, Utah, located 15 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City.
