
This position provides valuable hands-on experience in collegiate athletics communications, including content creation, game coverage, and digital media management.
Primary Responsibilities
Write and publish game recaps, previews, and feature stories for all varsity sports
Maintain and update the athletics website with scores, statistics, rosters, and schedules
Assist with live game coverage, including statistics, social media updates, and postgame content
Manage and grow athletics social media accounts with engaging and timely content
Produce weekly recaps, press releases, and other communications materials
Assist with photography, video content, and graphic creation as needed
Coordinate with coaches and staff to ensure accurate and timely information
Support media requests and game day operations for home events
Maintain historical records, archives, and statistical databases
Bachelor’s degree in communications, sports management, journalism, or a related field
Acceptance into a Coker University graduate program
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
Knowledge of athletics statistics and game flow (multiple sports preferred)
Experience with website management (Presto or similar platforms preferred)
Familiarity with social media platforms and content strategy
Basic skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere) preferred
Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel as required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
