
Eastern Illinois University is seeking an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. The Assistant Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the successful management and administration of all phases of the Varsity Intercollegiate Women’s Basketball program. All duties must be performed in compliance with Eastern Illinois University, Ohio Valley Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
This position assists the Head Coach in the planning, organization, and execution of team practices, competitions, and overall program operations. Responsibilities include contributing to strategic and operational management of the program, supporting team logistics, and ensuring efficient day-to-day functioning of all basketball-related activities.
The Assistant Coach also assists in the development and oversight of program budgeting and financial operations, including resource allocation and adherence to institutional and NCAA financial policies and procedures.
This role plays an integral part in advancing the mission and core values of the Athletics Department. It requires a combination of advanced knowledge and practical experience in coaching, recruiting, compliance, budgeting, and operational planning to support the long-term success and integrity of the program.
The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach in the following:
· Support and advance the mission and core values of the department
· Contributes to the success of EIU by performing other duties and assisting with projects, as assigned
Minimal Acceptable Qualifications
· Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Two (2) or more years of coaching and/or playing experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the sport of basketball including the ability to develop post players
Preferred/Beneficial Qualifications
· Master’s Degree
· Proven experience in recruiting and retaining high-quality basketball student athletes
· Experience working within a collegiate athletic program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Comprehensive knowledge of the sport, with the ability to effectively teach and develop student-athletes Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills with student-athletes, staff, and stakeholders
· Commitment to academic success and the holistic development of student-athletes
· Ability to contribute positively to a team-oriented athletic department culture

Salary and Benefits
Range: $3,500 - $3,543.75/month
