
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
On-field training, development, and coaching and teaching of the sport, including offensive and defensive tactics
Understand the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment and assist student-athletes in achieving exceptionally high athletic and academic goals
Coordinate player development through skill enhancement in training sessions
Assist head coach in the development and organization of practice planning and game strategies
Analyze video and statistical data to further develop and improve individual as well as team performances
Assist head coach in conducting pre-season, in-season and post-season player and team evaluations
Monitor year-round identification, academic qualification, and evaluation of prospective student-athletes for the program.
Continued monitoring of team’s recruiting database and assist in coordinating on-campus recruiting visits for prospects
Assist in coordinating on-campus recruiting visits for prospects
Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills and build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, faculty, and staff
Maintain and ensure compliance with the University’s policies, the Centennial Conference policies and the NCAA rules and regulations
Handle other responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Prior experience coaching and recruiting at a high academic institution preferred
Must have the ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday work
Travel is also required. A valid drivers’ license and ability to drive a vehicle is required.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
The Assistant Coach is directly supervised by the Head Coach. This position has significant interactions with faculty and staff, students, alumni, and other outside constituencies.
