Head Coach | Field Hockey

Position Overview: 

The Head Coach of Field Hockey is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for all aspects of the field hockey program. This includes the effective organization and administration of coaching, instruction, and skill development; recruitment and retention of student‑athletes; budget planning; scheduling; equipment purchasing; facility coordination; and fostering positive public relations and community engagement. The Head Coach ensures full compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional policies and regulations.

In addition to coaching responsibilities, this position supports academic coordination for student‑athletes by promoting academic success, monitoring progress, and collaborating with campus resources to enhance the overall student‑athlete experience.

The role also includes athletic event management responsibilities outside the traditional field hockey season, assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of home athletic contests and special events to ensure a positive and well‑organized game‑day environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university, Master’s Degree preferred. 

Experience:

  • One to two years previous coaching experience and/or training and competitive background indicative of the ability to coach successfully in a NCAA Division III liberal arts college environment.  

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current and valid driver’s license.

Work Related Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations.
