JOB SUMMARY

The Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant reports to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and assists in the design, implementation, and supervision of performance programs for 14 NCAA Division II athletic teams.

MAJOR DUTIES

Assist in developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs.

Teach and demonstrate proper lifting, speed, and conditioning techniques.

Supervise team workouts and ensure a safe training environment.

Assist with performance testing and data tracking.

Educate student-athletes on nutrition, recovery, and injury prevention.

Assist with maintenance and organization of the weight room and equipment.

Support scheduling and coordination of team training sessions.

Follow and abide by all institutional, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles and techniques.

Ability to teach proper lifting and conditioning methods.

Strong communication and motivational skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in weight room, athletic facilities, and outdoor settings. Requires lifting, demonstrating exercises, and working early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree

Admission to a graduate program at Northeastern State University

CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing CSCS or SCCC certification

Previous experience in strength and conditioning (intern, GA, or athlete)

Compensation includes tuition waiver for graduate classes, on-campus housing waiver, and a monthly stipend.
