Assistant Director for Athletics Technical Support

The Assistant Director for Athletics Technical Support directs, operates, and maintains the audio-visual systems located in the Barnhardt Student Activity Center and other Athletic Facilities.

Essential Duties:

  • Assists in the programming, operation, and troubleshooting of the systems located in the Student Activity Center/Halton Arena and other athletic facilities. This includes but is not limited to the following: LED Video Systems, Scoreboards, Content Management Systems, Sound Systems, Lighting Systems, Projectors, and Meeting Space Technologies.

  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs to the software and hardware level on audio-visual systems and associated output devices.

  • Assist the Technical Director with coordination of technical resources during events.

  • Train and evaluate technical student staff who are responsible for setup and operation of sound, video, and other technical equipment.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Broadcast Video and Technology.


Work Schedule:
8:00 am – 5:00 pm; Monday – Friday, with evening, weekend, and holiday work hours required in conjunction with events.

This position is designated as ‘mandatory’ and, when contacted to report to work, is expected to reach the campus as expeditiously as possible using normal precautions as dictated by adverse weather conditions and/or other emergency circumstances.


Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education:

  • Experience in a professional audio/visual or related field

  • Experience working in a college or professional sports environment.

  • Experience with technologies such as sound systems, scoreboards/video boards, lighting, and video equipment.
