
The Director of Volleyball Operations & Technical Coordinator at the University of Oklahoma is a key support role for the OU volleyball program. Reporting to the Head Volleyball Coach, this position is responsible for independent decision-making regarding the planning and management of all operational, logistical, and technical functions that contribute to the team’s success. This position ensures smooth execution of team travel, video and statistical analysis, game and practice operations, facility coordination, office administration, and supports recruiting and special projects as assigned by the Head Coach.
Essential Functions:
Program Operations & Logistics
Oversee and coordinate all aspects of team travel, including transportation, hotel accommodation, meals, and travel budget management.
Maintain detailed travel documentation and records in accordance with University and departmental policies.
Oversee office administrative functions and manage daily program operations.
Manage logistical aspects of practice and competition facility preparation.
Serve as a staff liaison with visiting teams and officials.
Assist with scheduling team activities and special events as directed by the Head Coach.
Ensure all equipment and operational requirements are fulfilled and accurately tracked throughout the season to support effective budget management.
Video & Statistical Analysis
Capture, organize, and maintain video content from practices and matches; manage and maintain all video equipment.
Tag and analyze live match statistics using volleyball-specific software (e.g., VolleyStation, VolleyMetrics, DataVolley).
Create opponent scoring data sets and sync statistical data with video for coaching and scouting use.
Provide real-time statistical feedback during matches and rotational analysis for coaching staff.
Upload and manage video content to meet institutional, conference (e.g., SEC), and NCAA requirements.
Coaching Support & Film Breakdown
Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations to support lineup decisions, offensive strategy, and player development.
Provide coaches and medical staff with film documenting player movement during practices and competitions to support accurate health and safety assessments for return‑to‑play decisions.
Maintain organized databases of practice and game film for strategic planning and future use.
Recruiting Support
Assist with on- and off-campus recruiting activities in compliance with NCAA regulations.
Communicate with prospective student-athletes, families, and coaches as permitted.
Support coaches in planning and executing logistical aspects of official and unofficial visits.
Ensure recruiting paperwork is completed and approved.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:
36 months of collegiate experience in the assigned sport.
Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 84 months of experience.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with equipment setup/tear-down

Frequent attendance at practices, matches, meetings, and team events
Work environment may involve loud noise and dynamic activity levels
Departmental Preferences:
4 years of experience working within a collegiate volleyball program, especially at the Division I level
Proficient use of statistical and video analysis software (e.g., DataVolley, VolleyMetrics, VolleyStation)
Supervision: Possible oversight of student workers
